Whether you’re discovering the Calder Valley for the first time, visiting Hebden Bridge, or simply want an easy and enjoyable way to get out and explore, an IOU Hostel Ebike can help you make the most of your time outdoors.
The IOU Hostel now has 4 Ebikes available to hire, giving you the freedom to explore local routes without needing to be an experienced cyclist. With electric assistance when you need it, you can take on the hills, travel further and enjoy the landscape at your own pace.
Hire from £30 for one day or £70 for three days.

Our EBikes
We have 4 Raleigh EBikes hybrid style available
Two are sized Medium/Large size and two are sized S/XS.
All bikes are “step thru” style – meaning no top bar making them easier to get on.
Both sizes are compatible with child seats and have 2 pannier (side) bags and a carrier rack. They also have automatic lights.
How They Work
The EBikes use a single gearing system on the right handle bar with the electric assist on the left handle bar. The electric assist option ranges from OFF to ECO (designed for easy road use) all the way to SPORT and TURBO designed for hill use (worth noting that using higher settings does deplete the battery quicker) .
A charger can be provided for a multi day hire. Hand pumps are provided in the panniers and a large tyre pump is available on site
Our Ebikes are regularly maintained for defects, damage and repairs, as well as a twice yearly full service – provided by Hebden Bridge bike specialists Blazing Saddles.
Collecting Your Bike
All our bikes are fully charged and ready to go. When you book, we’ll provide you with your bike store number and access code, so your bike will be ready and waiting for you.
Bikes are available to collect between 10am-11.30am from the Hostel. On arrival the Hostel Active Hub team will show you the key operational information and answer any questions, along with a quick maintenance check of the bikes, brakes, tyres and charge.
Important Information
Bikes can only be collected and returned between 10-11.30 am during staffed hours
Helmets and locks are not provided, but can be hired free of charge from the Hostel as part of this booking.
Please note we do not provide spare inner tubes, these can be purchased at Blazing Saddles, online or at other local bike shops.
Bikes are ridden at hirers own risk.
You must be physically able to ride an e-bike and have read our E-bike Hire Health Conditions and Rider Suitability and signed to state you agree during the booking process
A deposit of £100 is required . This amount will be reserved from your card at the time of booking and refunded once the bike is returned at the agreed time and in the same condition.
