Retreats and Workshops
The IOU Hostel is the perfect location for a wide range of retreats and workshops. With both indoor and outdoor spaces available, your group can enjoy a truly immersive experience.
From yoga and wellbeing weekends and workshops, creative retreats to knitting collectives and dancing festivals, the hostel can offer flexible spaces for group activities, breakout sessions, and more.
Our outside terrace and extensive grounds provide the ideal setting for outdoor workshops—whether it’s yoga, pilates, art classes, photography sessions, or even foraging workshops. We can support you with organising and hosting your event, as well as providing accommodation for your participants.

Community and School Events
The Hostel is also a safe, relaxed space for community and school events, with all our staff DBS checked, offering an opportunity for groups to come together for away days or activity programmes. We have proudly hosted 2-day activity programmes for local schoolchildren as part of national schemes participating in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.
During their stay, the Hostel was closed for their exclusive use, with our Dining Room and Snug transformed into spaces for yoga, storytelling, and other group activities, while the kitchen was used to prepare healthy meals together.
