The IOU Hostel offers contemporary, comfortable, and affordable accommodation in 14 ensuite rooms. Proudly Yorkshire’s only independent self-catering vegetarian hostel, set in the vibrant town of Hebden Bridge, close to the Pennine Way, with excellent transport links.

Surrounded by stunning woodland and gardens and a private wildflower meadow and terrace, the hostel provides an inspiring escape.

Choose from private ensuite rooms, including a wheelchair-accessible double room, budget-friendly dorm beds, or even exclusive hire of the entire hostel ideal for groups, conferences, retreats, schools, and community organisations.

Managed by the arts charity IOU Creation Centre, the Hostel is more than just a place to stay. It’s a creative hub, offering an Artist in Residence programme, regular exhibitions, and opportunities to take part in workshops and retreats.

With 14 ensuite rooms accommodating up to 40 guests, we cater for everyone.

From solo travellers in dormitory beds to families or groups in spacious private rooms. We also offer a wheelchair-accessible double room on the ground floor.

This May half term, come along to the IOU Creation Centre, Dean Clough Mills, to meet Babylon Gamelan and get hands on with this tower of noisy joy and sonic chaos.

Standing four metres tall, made from recycled materials and found objects, and inspired by the Tower of Babel, ‘Babylon Gamelan is a joyous mechanical sound sculpture and interactive percussive  installation’.
